Growing a Living Church

The Kielder Waterside Church was planted on 9th April 2019 to be ready in time for Easter.

Our instructor arrived with some special willow cuttings.  Then we got to work in Kielder village:

and put up the first hazel stakes.

 The body of the church takes shape

and three fishes are woven into the east window.

The outline is completed but we have to prune the sides shorter because strong wind will blow the whole structure down until the willow has rooted. Meanwhile there is a good view of Kielder Water through the lakeside window:
