How many legs does a crab have?

Wednesday 15th January 2014
You won't find a crab in this rockpool; but the answer to the question is ten  --  as I learnt at this evening's quiz in aid of St John's church, Otterburn, to which some members of the PCC hurried at the end of our meeting.

Parish visiting

Tuesday 14th January 2014
Molly finds something to nibble
This was actually yesterday's picture.  Today all visiting was done by car after a morning meeting with the Archdeacon, the architect and an advisor from Inspire North East as we attempted to address the problems of a large Grade I listed church in need of urgent repair in a village with a population of fewer than 200.  Finding the funds will be as hard for them as Molly's search for grass on the driveway!

Still here

Monday 13th January 2013

Molly's view
Meanwhile, I don't seem to be spending much time enjoying the view.  After Morning Prayer, I gave Molly half an hour's exercise and handed her over to the farrier for shoeing.  There were telephone calls about various things including a request for a wedding in a church that isn't licensed for weddings and some to-ing and fro-ing about a meeting that needs to take place without two almost essential participants.  The Archdeacon and the Lay Chairman of Deanery Synod came to prepare a future event with me; and eventually I put the wheelie-bin out too late for it to be emptied!

Around the parishes

Wednesday 8th January 2014
The road to Bellingham stretching over the hill on my way back from a Communion service at Otterburn.
The day continued with funeral preparations and meeting a couple to prepare for their marriage.

Happy New Year!

Monday 6th January 2014
Independent sheep going for a holiday ramble
(whilst I take a break from the parish occurrences which are as numerous as ever).
